During Activating Breathwork

Other Things to Be Aware Of

Hyperventilation

Also known as overbreathing, and creates a drop in CO2 levels.

Tetany

The involuntary contraction of muscles and cramping, often in the hands and feet, that can be brought on by lower CO2 levels. It will always go away on its own, often within a few minutes. Tetany may be more intense when people are forcing the exhalation.

Sensations & Somatic Experience

There are an infinite number of ways people experience breathwork that are “normal.” It’s important to hold safe space for the exploration of all of it.
